Following its acquisition by BMW, Alpina has now become a luxury performance sub-brand of BMW. The first model since the acquisition is set to make its debut on May 15, 2026, at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, held in Cernobbio, Italy. The models Alpina is set to launch will be based on the BMW X7 and BMW 7 Series.
The models based on the X7 will be Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs), while those based on the 7 Series will be sedans. What do we know about the Alpina new-era models?
Under BMW ownership, Alpina is set to make the public debut of its new model on May 15, 2026, in an event. If it is an SUV, it will be based on the BMW X7; if it is a sedan, it will be based on the BMW 7 Series. In other words, the models scheduled to debut will serve as the top-end variants of their respective luxury lineups.
All Alpina models will be released only after the corresponding updates to BMW’s models. All models launched under the Alpina brand are designed to deliver both rapid and comfortable long-distance driving, whereas cars falling under BMW’s M division prioritise maximum performance and driver engagement. Alpina models will feature an elegant, mature, and understated styling aesthetic, while BMW M division vehicles are characterised by a bold, aggressive, and sporty design.
What will be the price of the BMW Alpina new-era models?
The pricing for the Alpina new-era models, scheduled to debut on May 15, 2026, has not yet been publicly disclosed. However, it is anticipated that prices in the United States market will range approximately from $170,000 to $180,000, which translates to roughly 1.7 crore in Indian rupees.
It is possible that the new-era Alpina models will also feature a limited-edition variant priced at up to $200,000; however, neither BMW nor Alpina has publicly released any information regarding this matter so far. As for its pricing in India following its launch, we are all well aware that even if Alpina is introduced in the country, it will be imported as a CBU (Completely Built Unit).
