MG Majestor India Launch on April 20: Flagship SUV Set to Redefine Premium Segment

The MG Majestor, unveiled in the Auto Expo 2025, is all set to make its Indian debut on April 20, 2026. The booking has already started from February 12, 2026, with a token amount of ₹41,000; delivery for this car from MG Motors India will begin in May 2026.

The launch will disclose the actual price, although reports suggest that its ex-showroom prices are anticipated to fall between ₹40 lakh and ₹45 lakh, depending on variant. It will be positioned above the MG Gloster in the brand’s ICE SUV line-up.

Early buyers are all set to get the benefit of ‘5-5-5 Peace Of Mind’, which includes a five-year warranty, five years of roadside assistance, and five free labour services. In the Indian market, it will compete with Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner and Jeep Meridian.

Dimensions & Space

The MG Majestor is 5046 mm long, 2016 mm wide, and 1870 mm tall; overall, it makes its road presence bold and gives ample legroom, headroom and shoulder room for all occupants. The wheelbase of 2950 mm provides better stability at top speed, and ground clearance of 219 mm makes it easily comfortable with potholes and speed breakers.

It features the seating capacity of 7 people with a layout of 2-3-2 and 6 people with 2-2-2. The boot space is 343 litres, capable of easily carrying 3 big pieces of luggage, and it is expandable up to 1350 litres by folding the rear seats. The fuel tank capacity is 75 litres; with a full tank, it may give a range of up to 800 km, making the long journey convenient without stopping for refilling.

Powertrain & Performance

The Majestor from MG Motors features a 2.0-litre (1996 cc) twin-turbo diesel with 4 cylinders, which results in no lag and strong acceleration. The engine’s power output is 213 bhp and torque is 478 Nm, giving strong pull. The offered transmission is an 8-speed automatic, and the drivetrain is a rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configuration.

Many details about the performance are yet to be made public. It is expected that the acceleration timing of 0-100 km/h may fall between 9 and 11 seconds, and top speed goes up to 180-190 km/h. The fuel efficiency for highway driving may be around 13-14 kmpl; the same for cities is likely 12-13 kmpl. These details will be announced with the launch.

Suspension & Brake

Nothing is confirmed about the Majestor’s suspensions for India, but the rear may feature independent double wishbone suspension, which provides better stability at high speed, improves cornering control and absorbs bumps smoothly; the rear is likely to get multi-link suspension that gives a smoother ride on rough roads and gives better handling than a basic rigid axle.

Now talk about the brakes; it is certain that the front tyres will get ventilated disc brakes, which are powerful as well as heat-resistant, and the rear will get a solid disc. They are reliable and cost-effective and provide enough braking power for rear wheels. It also gets some braking technology, which includes ABS, EBD, ESP, hill descent control and brake assist.

Interior & Features

The Majestor cabin is quite spacious and filled with smart features that ensure comfort and convenience and advanced features for safety. It gets dual 12.3-inch screens, one for the infotainment and the other as a digital cluster. The seats are made up of high-quality soft-touch material. Front seats are powered, as are ventilation and massage functions.

It also gets Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger option, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker JBL premium sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, and others. For safety, it includes six airbags, a 360° camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and Level 2 ADAS that includes lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and emergency braking.

Exterior & Design

Up front, the Majestor gets a huge ‘Mosaic Matrix’ grille, which gives it dominant road presence; a large MG logo at the centre; vertical LED daytime running lights in a dragon-eye style, which reflects its modern look and gives it a premium feel; split LED headlamps; and a sculpted bonnet, which gives it a muscular appearance.

On the sides, it gets a straight and boxy silhouette, making the cabin more spacious, with blacked-out B and C pillars; chunky body cladding gives it a rugged look and also protects its body. It runs on 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, which further improves its fuel efficiency.

The back features connected LED tail lamps through the body to give it a modern look and gets bold ‘MAJESTOR’ branding to present its identity. The tailgate design is quite upright, and it has a chunky rear bumper; together they result in giving a rugged look.

The launch for the MG Majestor will happen on the scheduled date, revealing pricing, and undisclosed specifications and features. Four colour options are going to be available for all variants, which are Pearl White, Concrete Grey, Metal Black and Metal Ash.
