BYD unveils the BYD Kei car at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 as a prototype on 30 October 2025. The first-ever Kei car of BYD, specially based on the Kei regulations, will only launch in Japan. 

The company has not revealed its launch timeline, but reports suggest that it can officially launch in the Japanese market in the summer of 2026. The company is targeting the daily commuters, young people, fleet buyers as this car can go through less space.

The company has not revealed BYD’s Raco price yet, but based on the reports, people can expect the price to start from 2.45 million yen or $16,710. The price of variants may differ based on the driving range, and other features or specifications. 

Japan offers tax insurance incentives on Electric Kei-car, so, with BYD K-car the residents will have another option with technology under the Kei-car vehicles.  The new BYD Racco will be launched next year in Japan competing the Kei-car segments with better technology.
