Mahindra’s Next Big SUVs Revealed! Mini Scorpio & XUV 3XO Are Coming Soon

Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to launch two new SUVs in the near future; one of them is the Mini Scorpio-N, and the other is the New-Gen XUV 3XO. The launch dates of both of these cars are yet to be disclosed, but it is likely that the first one will come in early 2027 and the second in the first quarter of 2028 or even earlier.

Both of these SUVs are going to be totally different from one another in terms of engine and transmission, interior and exterior, safety features, dimensions, price, and others. Mini Scorpio-N

It is one of the compact SUVs to be launched by Mahindra & Mahindra; recently the company had shown it as the Vision S Compact. It is going to be launched in the sub-4-meter segment in the Indian market, which means its length is going to be less than 4 meters.

Its design is completely inspired by the Scorpio-N, in which you will get a boxy shape, muscular wheel arches, a high bonnet, and the signature “Scorpio” grille. It is likely to be available in the Indian market with two engine options, which could be a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine:

1. 1.2-Liter Turbo Petrol Engine

  • Type: 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol
  • Power: Around 130 PS
  • Torque: About 230 Nm
  • Transmission: 6-speed manual / optional automatic (AMT)
  • Drivetrain: Front-Wheel Drive (FWD)
  • Expected Mileage: 17–19 km/l

2. 1.5-Liter Diesel Engine

  • Type: 4-cylinder, turbo diesel
  • Power: Around 117 PS
  • Torque: About 300 Nm
  • Transmission: 6-speed manual / optional automatic
  • Drivetrain: Front-Wheel Drive (FWD)
  • Expected Mileage: 20–21 km/l

It’s going to be loaded with features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and automatic climate control. 

Its ground clearance is expected to be around 199 mm, which will help deliver a smooth driving experience even in rough conditions. Its ex-showroom price can be around ₹9 lakh to ₹12 lakh in New Delhi.

New-Gen XUV 3XO

The next-generation XUV 3XO from Mahindra and Mahindra, which is going to be based on the NU.IQ modular platform. The design of this car is inspired by the Vision X Concept; it is going to combine the look of a futuristic front grille, slim LED headlamps, and a coupe-style rear profile.

The next generation is expected to be bigger and wider than the current model, with a wheelbase of 2620 mm. If media sources are to be believed, it may be equipped with a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine.

There are also reports that the company may also launch a hybrid variant of this car, which will have an electric motor along with the petrol engine, which will provide more mileage and better performance.

The electric version of this car is yet to be launched; it is likely that Mahindra & Mahindra will launch it in the Indian market with 45-kilowatt and 60-kilowatt batteries, whose range on full charge will be approximately 420 km and 580 km, respectively.

It is expected that we will get a 12.3-inch digital infotainment display, a full digital instrument cluster, ADAS Level 2 features, and a 360° camera system. For the safety of the passengers, this car is going to have 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, and a high-strength steel body structure.

The petrol and hybrid variants of the next generation are likely to be priced between ₹12 lakh and ₹18 lakh, while the electric vehicle is expected to be priced around ₹25 lakh.
