The powertrain and performance for the 2026 Land Cruiser 250 (Prado) remain the same as the outgoing; there are no changes in it. It comes with a 2TR-FE 2.7L inline-4 naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1GD-FTV 2.8L inline-4 turbocharged diesel engine. The key specifications are as follows:
- The petrol engine has a displacement of 2693 cc and generates the power of 163 PS and torque of 246 Nm. Its transmission is a 6-speed automatic. It gives the WLTC mileage of 7.5 km/L and is considered the best option for urban and light off-road use.

It is available in a full-time all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration with both engine options. Note that the range is claimed; it may give 6-7 kmpl and 8-9 km for petrol and diesel engines, respectively, depending on driving style and road conditions.
What about India’s launch?
The Toyota Land Cruiser 250 is yet to be launched in the Indian market. It is expected that the SUV will be launched as a complete build unit with an ex-showroom price of around ₹1.2 crore and ₹1.5 crore. The Japanese automaker has not confirmed anything about the India launch, but the media sources suggest that it may happen in 2026.
The India launch may happen with a 2TR-FE 2.7L Inline-4 Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine, the same as the one available in India. There is a very small chance that the option of the 1GD-FTV 2.8L Inline-4 Turbocharged Diesel Engine will be introduced.
