The facelift of the Volkswagen Taigun is all set to be introduced in the Indian market on April 9, 2026, in multiple variants, with many upgrades from the existing model. The pricing will be announced with the launch, but it is likely to cost ex-showroom between ₹12 and ₹19 lakh.
Exterior
The Taigun’s facelift front fascia features Connected LED light bar with grill and illuminated VW logo. The grill design is sleek with a gloss-black design. It gets sharper LED headlamps and DRLs which make its appearance more modern and a redesigned bumper with cleaner styling.
The silhouette on the sides remains unchanged, meaning there is no change in proportions and stance. It gets new 17-inch alloy wheels which further improve efficiency, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, blacked-out B-pillars, and body cladding.
The rear gets connected LED taillights with a C-shaped lighting signature which gives it a sharper look. The VW illuminated logo is also available on the centre of the tailgate, and the revised bumper gives it a simpler and cleaner design, reducing chrome usage.
Interior
The facelift of the Taigun also features a spacious cabin but with more smart and high-tech features. The front seats are ventilated and electrically adjustable, so the driver can set a comfortable seating position, and the rear seats may come with the massage function. The soft seating gives a premium feel, and the panoramic sunroof enhances cabin openness.
There’s a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, which displays driving data clearly, and a 10.1-inch infotainment system with AI integration. Get wireless connectivity such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a charging pad. It also features automatic climate control, a premium sound system and push-button start and keyless entry.
It features six airbags, which ensures safety, with ABS and EBD, which prevents wheel lock and improves braking stability; TCS that maintains grip on slippery roads; Cruise Control, which helps in reducing driver fatigue on highways; and Front and Rear Parking Sensors with Reverse Camera, which help in easy and safe parking.
Dimensions
The Taigun’s facelift dimensions remain the same as the existing model’s in terms of length, width and height, which are 4221 mm, 1760 mm and 1612 mm, respectively, but with the exterior cosmetic update, now it looks more eye-catching and modern, which further increases its road presence.
The wheelbase of 2651 mm enhances stability and gives ample legroom for rear-seating passengers, and the ground clearance of 188 mm makes it ideal for Indian road conditions, as it can easily navigate through the potholes. The boot space stands at 385 litres, which is capable of easily carrying 3 pieces of luggage.
Specifications
The Tiagun’s facelift is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which provides better stability, strong build quality, and good safety performance. Both front and rear brakes are disc, which gives better stopping power, and front and rear suspension is MacPherson strut and twist beam, respectively; together they provide comfort and handling balance.
The powertrain and performance remain the same; it comes with two engine options that are 1.0L TSI Turbo Petrol and 1.5L TSI EVO Turbo Petrol. But the 1.0L TSI Turbo Petrol may get 8AT transmission instead of 6AT. Their specifications are the following:

| Displacement | 999 cc | 1498 cc |
| Cylinders | 3-cylinder | 4-cylinder |
